Mitchell Builders operate out of our main office at Stapylton which is half way between the Gold Coast and Brisbane and we have completed projects in both local/south east Queensland areas, as well as regional/remote areas of Australia. In addition to conventional and recycled building materials and methods, we have also built in the “Rammed Earth” method, which utilises suitable local soils and aggregates which has an enormous array of environmental, thematic and aesthetic benefits. One such development was the “National Wine Centre in Adelaide, South Australia – now occupied by the University of South Australia.

The Mitchell Eco Industrial Estate

Our Eco Industrial Estate with UDIA 6 Leaf Certification..This environmental Self-Sustainable Industrial Estate became official by the Gold Coast City Council on the 19th Dec. 2009. The 10 acre Estate is in the Industrial area of Stapylton half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. All of the public street lighting, water pumps & security systems is run by solar power (grid connect), all the factories have been bought from demolition sites, saved from destruction, been reconditioned, made to look like new prior to being built on site. The sheds all face approximately North with canopies to shade any sun during summer, the southern long sides are built with thermal walls built into the sloping site so as to give a cooling effect, all the roofs are insulated, vented & are white Colour Bond for the coolest effect, the western walls are insulated. The sheds are significantly cooler even though Alsynite sheeting is used in each bay for natural lighting.

The National Wine Centre now know as the University of Australia..This wonderful piece of architecture was created by Rammed Earth National which was our Rammed Earth Construction Company at the time. This is one of many of our Rammed Earth constructed projects completed around the country.
